Os 13km do percurso pedestre que liga as Aldeias do Xisto, Casal de São Simão e 
Ferrarias de São João, foram já percorridos por vários grupos de caminhantes que têm ficado impressionados com o seu enquadramento paisagístico . O percurso de dificuldade média alta, que os caminhantes têm efectuado entre 4 a 6 horas, desenvolve-se em antigos caminhos e levadas que se encontravam completamente obstruídos. Para a sua abertura, foi feito um grande trabalho de prospecção e desmatação pelos moradores do Casal de São Simão e Sapadores Florestais da Câmara de Figueiró dos Vinhos. A parte inicial e final desenvolve-se em montanha, onde se destaca a grandiosa vista 
sobre as duas Aldeias. A parte intermédia acompanha as Ribeiras das Ferrarias e do Alge onde; cascatas, antigas azenhas, o verde do arvoredo e o som refrescante da água enfeitiçam os caminhantes.

The level of difficulty is medium to high, it takes about four to six hours, it runs along old tracks and old paths for water (known as “levadas”) to reach the water-mills that were completely obstructed with scrub. It was quite a hard job of cleaning the scrub and discovering the better “way”, this was made by inhabitants of Casal de São Simão and the municipality of Figueiró dos Vinhos. The fisrt and the
last part of the trekking is on the top of the hill which gives us great landscapes and lovely views of the villages. The middle part is along the streams of Ferrarias and Alge were we can see some waterfalls, old water-mills, green woods and the refreshing sound of water that will put the hikers under it’s charming spell.
